Addo & Nicho In Talks

Peter Nicholas has been widely quoted as saying that “We’re not going to hang around. If people don’t make their minds up, we’ll make it for them and walk away” with reference to their contracts which run out in August this year.

Nicholas went on in the Welsh Mirror “We’re now reaching a situation where certain individuals have got to knock on our door and tell us what is going on. Colin and I have talked and we’re not going to let this uncertainty continue for much longer. All of this isn’t fair to our families, the Swansea players, the fans or ourselves. I’m not putting a deadline for decision day, but we’re getting there.

“Colin Addison and myself have been through hell since we landed at Swansea last September. Many weaker individuals would have walked away from all the trouble. But despite the difficulties we’ve battled through. We’ve been strong together and we have an excellent working partnership.”

It now seems that Nicholas’ outburst has provoked a reaction from the powers that be at the Vetch who we are led to believe have been concentrating on work behind the scenes since taking over and trying to iron out the mess left by Tony Petty.

My viewpoint is that Nicholas’ outburst couldn’t have been worse timed. Ultimatums, as I stated yesterday, are a dangerous game to play and alot now will depend on the strength of the likes of Morgan and Jenkins in dealing with Addo and Nicho this afternoon. They must be wary of giving in immediately to demands without full consideration.

Colin Addison and Peter Nicholas have not been dealt a fair hand this season, that much is true, but neither have the players or the fans for that matter. Swansea City football club must not be held to ransom over the contracts of the management and if new contracts are to be given then they must be given because they are in the best interests of Swansea City Football Club and not the best interests of Colin Addison and Peter Nicholas only.

Whether they will get those contracts remains to be seen but the issuing of the ultimatum has upset a few fans and it is possible that Addo and Nicho have lost a few supporters because of it.
