However, he believes that he may have to remove the adverts at the request of the council. Steve placed the adverts on his taxi recently, following the addition of one that he placed for the supporters trust free of charge. The adverts themselves show Cyril the Swan together with links for jackarmy.net, swanseacity.net and swanstrust.com
However, Steve now believes that he may have to remove the adverts as they do not meet with the council guidelines and this will stop the club being advertised free of charge and also could cause problems with the paintwork on his taxi as the adverts are not metallic.
After placing the advert, Steve told the official club site " I have been a fan all my life, so when I heard that Swansea Council were allowing cabs to carry adverts, I thought it would be a good idea. I know that the Club make money from their website, so I thought the more people who see the address, the more will visit it. As a member of the Supporters Trust, I felt the same, so be advertising the Trust site, I’m just trying to make people more aware."
But now he is appealing to Swans fans to persuade the council to allow him to keep the advertising on his car. "I feel this is a fantastic advert for the club/trust and it must be allowed to stay as it is also advert for the city of Swansea also in a certain way. I need you urgent help in this matter, so I urge all football fans with decent views to help me in this matter."
Steve suggests that you contact Kath Thomas at the council either on 01792 635600 or e-mail her using this link. Help keep the club advertised and spread the word on Swansea City.
