Home >Story Index> Can Jack slay the Giant???

After weeks of eager anticipation the day has finally arrived, yes it’s the big one, Jackarmy.net v Sleepinggiant.com!!! Just a couple of months ago the idea of an inter-site football match was born. What started out as just simple match up between the fans of Swansea City and Cardiff City has grown into a full scale “event”.

A match which has captured the attention of Swansea and Cardiff fans everywhere has now become subject to full scale media attention with all the major South Wales newspapers taking an interest. Over the last few weeks stories have appeared in the South Wales Echo, South Wales Evening Post and Sunday will see the big clash gracing the pages of the Wales on Sunday. Local radio stations have also been plugging the big game and all signs point to a bumper crowd at the Morfa Stadium on Sunday.

With a lot of pride at stake you can bet that both teams will be up for this one, but who will have the honour of lifting the Harry Griffiths Memorial Trophy? Jackarmy.net start the match as favourites mainly due to their extremely professional approach to the match. The squad have been in training for 6 weeks and have also recorded thoroughly convincing wins in both their pre-match friendlies. Earlier this evening jackarmy.net coach, Stephen “Reeco” Rees, confirmed that he has no injury worries ahead of the big clash and the jackarmy.net team will be at full strength.

Although starting the match as underdogs, our friends from up the M4 will certainly give it their best shot and with the amount of banter flying back and forth between the two message boards over the last week or so, it promises to be a mouth-watering encounter.

Admission to the big game is ร‚ยฃ1 for adults (which includes the matchday programme) and it’s free entry for kids and all proceeds go to the Roger Freestone Testimonial Fund. Swansea City’s very own Cyril the Swan will be making an appearance and it is hoped that Roger Freestone and a few other familiar faces will also be making an appearance at some point during the game.

On what promises to be a warm, sunny, summers day, two footballing giants go head to head in the South Wales derby. Good luck to both teams and we’ll see you all at the Morfa on Sunday.
