Marsh who signed for the Swans in the close season is the man ready to step into Roger’s shoes (boots?) should the injury keep him out of action this weekend which now seems more likely. |
Roger broke the bone in his foot on Saturday but finished the 3-2 defeat with Nick Cusack opting instead to keep his three substitutions for outfield players: “If I had made a substitution, my options would have been reduced elsewhere” Cusack told the Evening Post. |
Cusack could well be forced into several changes on Saturday with injury also affecting David Smith as well as a three game suspension beginning for Kristian O’Leary who was sent off in the opening game against Rushden and Diamonds. |
With 499 league games under his belt for the Swans, Roger will be hopeful that the 500th is not too far around the corner but in all honesty the chances of this happening at the Vetch against Bournemouth this season are reasonably remote at this moment in time. However, this time around in Andrew Marsh we have a competent replacement who I do not feel will be out of his depth as we saw in the past with Jason Jones and people watching the game on Saturday should be mindful that this is a young player making his league debut for the club and not be too hasty to get on his back if he starts a little nervously. |
