Tate is a 20-year old defender who is currently in the reserves at Old Trafford, but has yet to make an appearance for their first team. He was previously on loan with Royal Antwerp for 6 months last season. He was at York on Saturday hoping to watch his new team mates in action but of course the match fell victim to the weather.
Richards on the other hand is also 20 and his position is given as a midfielder. He has previously been on loan at Halifax, Oldham and Crewe and ha made 18 appearances in total for those clubs -scoring twice.
Speaking on the official site, Flynn described Tate as a “footballing centre half, a good passer and someone who distributes the ball well” Richards is described as “Strong and quick with a good scoring record at academy and reserve level”
Both will be at the Vetch for the coming month but both Sir Alex Ferguson and Graeme Souness have given approval for an extended stay if the loans prove successful.
Both will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s game at Scunthorpe and I would imagine that both will be likely to feature in that game.
