Home >Story Index> Your Shout!!! – Memorable Moments

With everyone preparing for the biggest match in our history against Hull on Saturday, jackarmy.net brings you the fourth and final article written by YOU, the fans. Tonight’s subject is Memorable Moments. Take it away lads and lasses……………………….

"Its got to be that 3-0 win over Chester – with the pitch invasion at the end seeing all the swans fans lift up molby in celebration. Brilliant!"

Simon Davies

"Toshack bringing a swans youth side to Clydach Utd for a welsh league cup match in the early 80’s. Imagine half a dozen 11 yr olds having a pre-match kick about with TOSH !!!! Top bloke!!"

Simon Thomas (MAGS)

"My most memorable moment was the game against Lincoln when we held a centre stand protest to demonstrate how much we disliked Petty. We were only 8 fans but we did take real radio off the air for about 5 minutes"

Reeco

"Cup final penalty shoot out v Huddersfield, the 2nd goal v West Brom play-off semi first leg at home – i thought we were there………. but then Andy McFarlane scored an OG to let the baggies back into the tie. Everyone singing You Jack B tard at Hartson when playing West Ham in FA Cup Thomas winner v West Ham at home in FA cup"

Mark Goddard

"Both times we got to wembley, I’ll never forget the feeling of us winning the autoglass trophy, or when Northampton scored that last minute goal, that’s what football is all about, a roller coaster of emotions. Also remember playing Cardiff and being 3-0 after like 20 minutes, matches against Monaco, Spurs, and that Greek side parasomethingorother, and of course knocking West Ham out of the cup, all great matches"

Roger Russell (Life Long Jack)

"When we got promoted to Div 2 and also when the fans got Tony Petty out of the club"

Matthew Taylor

"John Cornforth lifting the Autoglass Trophy at Wembley with around 20’000 Jacks singing "Falling in love with you". It sent shivers down my spine then and it still does thinking about it now. That memory will stay with me for life"

Gareth Jones (Whiteswan)

"One that sticks in my mind, was when we played in a cup game ( cant remember the team as I was very young looking through a pillar on the bank ) and an opposing player went down and rolled about like he been shot, then a bloke stood by me threw on one of his crutches that he actually needed to get home.. Even as a child , god did I laugh…"

Michael Barroccu (mab1)

"Winning the Autoglass Trophy will always be special to me. But for sheer unadulterated joy, it would have to be coming from a goal down to beat the scum and Alsop’s baiting of the scum keeper that followed winning goal"

NomadA big thank-you to everyone who contributed this week. It’s been great to read all your stories. I’ll leave you with one last thought………………………………………………….. Our greatest, most memorable moment is yet to come. We’ve reserved that for 4:50pm on Saturday May 3rd. THE JACKS ARE STAYING UP!!!
