| 22.06.03 – 7.12am – Myra is the first housemate up and she is surprised as she enters the sofa area to find that Big Jack Brother has pasted a big red cross on the patio doors. She wonders what this is all about. | |
| 22.06.03 – 8.57am – The remaining housemates are woken by a request for one of them to come to the diary room. Myra comes in and receives the new weekly task. "This week housemates you are to be doctors and nurses for the week. Every time that Jason Smith gets injured you have to tend to his injury and bandage it or whatever treatment you feel suitable within half an house of the injury. You are not this week gambling your weekly food budget but should you succeed in this task then you will each receive a red cross parcel of one thing Big Jack Brother deems appropriate for you from the outside world." The housemates groan as they realise that most of the next 72 hours will be spent patching Jason up. Not quite as loudly as they groan when they realise he has strained his tongue groaning and needs medical attention. | |
| 22.06.03 – 9.14am – Nick comes up with the idea of just wrapping Jason in cotton wool for three days and on that basis they would not have to treat him. The rest agree that this is a good idea so Nick starts to work on the cotton wool. Sadly, there are some sharp edges to it and disinfectant cream is applied to the cuts on Jason’s face by Peter who offers him a buy one bandage get one free scenario. | |
| 22.06.03 – 10.53am – James Thomas comes to the diary room to ask for more bandages as the initial supply of 50 metres has run out. Steve Watkin tries to apply som Germoline to a cut on Jason’s nose but misses and glues his eyelid shut. | |
| 22.06.03 – 12.04pm – Leigh Dineen is telling housemates about some of the things he misses on the outside world. He is particularly fond of a good Indian meal from "The Viceory of India", loves watching repeats of "Miami Vice" on UK Gold and is particularly fond of little known US singer ‘Vice Damone’ | |
| 22.06.03 – 1.12pm – Stupidly the housemates have let Jason Smith make them lunch. In chopping up the onions, he badly slice his finger, then he burns his hand on the hot stove before dropping a tin of baked beans on his foot. The housemates agree that Jason is better off sat down for now. | |
| 22.06.03 – 4.08pm – Leon Britton is on first aid duty. This could prove to be a bit of a problem when you consider that the bandages are bigger than he is and he believes that the wrapper that the plasters come in is actually a sleeping bag. Still he gets through his stint easily enough when Jason falls asleep and manages not to injure himself for over 2 hours. | |
| 22.06.03 – 7.18pm – Jason Smith is starting to look more and more like a mummy. He now has a total of 12 bandages, 18 plasters and 43 areas of his body that have been treated with some form or another of disinfectant cream. James Thomas has applied just three bandages, Leigh Dineen two and Steve Watkin eight (all in the wrong place) | |
| 22.06.03 – 9.01pm – Jason Smith is safely tucked up in bed with extra softening by thirteen towels and one Myra Powles. The housemates hope that he will be safe there all night. Leon Britton is amusing the group by colouring in the frosties packet that he finished that morning. | |
| 22.06.03 – 11.42pm – As they head off to bed, the housemates check in on Jason. He has not moved since he went to bed and the rest know on that basis they should be safe until the end of the night.
