Swans Away Strip Unveiled

Swansea City have unveiled their new away strip for the 2004/2005 season as designed by the competition winner from the Evening Post (well, the colour is the same anyway!)

The shirt, which will also carry in the material the names of up to 1000 fans (see here), was designed by Robert Hartley – a 13 year old Swans fan from the City.

Readers of the Evening Post were invited to make their decision from the three finalists selected from the judging panel. The three entries were

Design two was the winner but, as a club spokesman said "The shirt will be made as close to Robert’s original design by Swansea City’s suppliers. The White Swan, though, cannot be produced on the shirt as this would not be financially viable and within Football League regulations. This does not stop the club from producing a polo shirt which will include the white swan design and will be available for sale."

The result (pictured below) is basically the same as this season’s away kit but in a different colour!
