For us Jacks it’s a case of deja vu as yet again we find ourselves well in the mix after a very encouraging start to the season. So with that in mind lets get old Watch’s crystal balls out and buff ’em up and see into the future and what the rest of the season will bring.

Its been interesting this last fortnight to see the teams, who have started well, slide down the table the mighty Macca and Stigs and Dale after encouraging starts all now find the greasy pole and are starting to clutch for anything to apply the brakes.

Meanwhile Jacks, Darlo (very dark horses) and my tip Grimsby have started to put together results and are looking the more threatening of the bunch at this time. Only Notts Cty and Cobblers of the fancied runners have not yet shown what they are capable of and surely they will before season end.

But what of us, the Jacks. Ol’ KJ could not buy a home win for what seemed liked forever but now has a side that has won its last 5 on the spin and who do not look like conceding at home, Big Willy and the Back Door Posse have deemed it appropriate that there will be a strictly no scoring policy at the Vetch long may it continue.

We have picked up 13 out of a possible 18 at home with a full house of 12 from the last 4, we have however only played one of the top 7 (excl us) at home and so there are some good ones to come. With this in mind and also that we have six of the current bottom 10 at home its a safe bet we can get a further 10 wins and 5 draws at home this season giving us 48 points at home. I expect wins at home against Shrews, Chester, Camb, Dale, Pox Bury, Sarfend and a few agst the better sides. My crystals tell me that only Grimsby and Notts Cty will win at the Vetch for the rest of the season

And so we come to the usual achillies heel for many an aspiring side the away form, so far so good and an encouraging start for us with one more win away this season than at the same time last year. With only 4 of the remaining games (Darlo, Imps, Grimsby and Scunny) in places as hospitable as the icy Tundra of the Eastern blok, its fair to say that should the Jack Army be there or there abouts there will be a fair following for nearly all away games and this is crucial for us in our last season at the Old Lady.

My buffed up balls predict wins at Kiddy, Shrews, Chelts, Notts Cty, Sarfend and Orient whilst we pick up points at amongst other places, Stig of the Dumps, Scunny, Darlo, Imps. The usual slip ups at Brizzle, Cobblers, Pox ,Notts Cty, Boston and also against the two teams of R&D which for me points the way to 33 points away from home

This gives a grand total of 81 points and as scary as this seems this was the total that Torquay and the Huddersfield managed last year in 3rd and 4th places in the table. We are of course the Jacks and we do usually beat the best and lose to the worse and no doubt the same will happen again but with KJ and the gang not looking anything like as porous as last year then surely the time is right for the next stage and that of higher grade football.

WE have helped save the club, WE then helped by supporting in bigger numbers and allowing the club to invest in better players now its stage 3 and further integration of the club and the City and onwards and upwards to League 1 and Dave.

Don’t think Paltalk will be as nervous and as fractious as last season (a shame in many ways) but it will be a lot happier

What are the odds on KOL scoring the goal that takes us up worth a shilling me thinks

Blessed be and keep watching
