Moments We’d Rather Forget

Tony Petty because he sacked 7 players in one season and I was not happy about that one bit – Steven Cleverly, Swansea

The end of the 2000/01 season because we got relegated – Jamie John, Llanelli

Wales v Iceland – 2-0 up and the lights went out, came back on and drew 202 and failed to qualify for the finals – Lee Clement, St Thomas

v Southend a few years ago. The ref had an absolute mare and southend ended with 8 men on the field and without their assistant who’d also been sent off – yet they still managed to catch us on the break to score and seal the points – Broxx, Swansea

Every memory is worthwhile from the place – good or bad – Andy Renesto,Swansea

Swans 1 Aston Villa 2 1971 – I had nagged my father to go down the Vetch for ages. It was Xmas time and he and my grandfather reluctantly accompanied me onto the North Bank. One nil up, Herbie, but lost 2-1. That wasn’t the problem it was all the hooliganism going on around. He never went down again and banished me from the North Bank until I was older – Martin Halmkan, Swansea

Easter Monday 2003 – we lost a vital game against relegation rivals Exeter City, the atmosphere in the HG bar was awful – Frank Williams, Swansea

97-98 season we drew 0-0 with Doncaster on the last game of the season – most dire game I have ever witnessed – Richard Stanley, Glynneath

Every time you went to the turnstiles it never mattered how many gates were open it always took ages – Charlie Edros, Swansea

Relegation game against Hull – I fell off the wall on the North Bank trying to get on at the end – Richard Lewis, Swansea

Cardiff matches – they descend into wars off the pitch, not a family occasion. Let’s hope we don’t see the like in the new stadium

When we played Kiddy 2 years ago – we were outplayed 4-0 and I thought we were going down – Jamie Williams

All of the games of the near relegation season – we are better than that – Leighton Jones, Swansea

Yeovil this season – we didn’t deserve to lose and know we are chasing them for the title! – Daniel Morris, Morriston

The moment I thought the club had died – Thomas Chislett, Swansea

Carlisle March 2003 – The ref gave a penalty for hand ball against Jenkins but it was a Carlisle player that handles it and later the red card for Jenkins was rescinded. We all felt cheated and even more because it was a relegation battle match – Alex Hayes, Swansea

After the first game in the first division v Leeds – being chased by a bunch of Leeds fans through the bus station – Nigel, Bristol

I will not be at the last game – I will cry – Mike Floate

The minutes silence for Harry Griffiths cos he was a Jack through and through and he never got to see us where he wanted to see us – Watchman, Swindon

Bristol Rovers 2002 – dire game, worst I’ve ever seen the Swans – Kelvin, Gowerton

The John Bond era – we nearly died I’ll never forget the Evening Post front page when we thought that was it – GrandpaJack, Llangyfelach

Kevin Cullis – we were the laughing stock of World football, such a shame. I could also mention Lewis and Petty but that was just unfortunate even though they are both beyond contempt – Dominic Daley, Clydach

Workington game – they put six past us – Jeff Evans

A swollen eye on a Tuesday night during the Milk Cup game against the scum, I was on the receiving end of a golf ball – Pete Evs, Llanelli

Losing my false teeth in the North Bank – I was quite close to them – Paul Snary, Swansea

Welsh Cup Final Cardiff v Wrexham – Alan Curtis won the cup for them on OUR pitch – Mark Griffiths, Swansea

The Swans crowd not having the chance to say farewell to Roger Freestone – he is a Swans legend and we should have been allowed to say a big thank you – Paul Huxtable, Swansea

The Sam Hammams a p chant – racist and embarrassing – Simon Inkson, Swansea

Dodgy pasties once made and wrapped in Cardiff – Warren, Swansea

Losing to Cardiff in the Rumbelows cup – lost to 2 late goals – Paul Thomas, Neath
