The bidding was extremely keen, with all items realizing well in excess of what we expected.
Our thanks to Swansea City FC for allowing us the use of the marquee, and most importantly to Kevin Johns, who conducted the auction in a hugely entertaining fashion, and was undoubtedly the main reason why the event was so successful.
Thank you, Kevin – you were absolutely awesome.
The evening was a great boost to the Project finances, with all proceeds of the entire project, bar one item, being distributed as follows :
10% to SPLASH (a charity set up to provide a hydrotherapy swimming pool at Penllergaer Special school), and also the provision of three full playing kits to junior football teams in the South West Wales area.
45% to Swansea City Football Club
45% to the Swans Supporters Trust
The one item being treated differently from last night’s auction is the Ivor Allchurch box set, with the proceeds of #1000 being donated to the Ivor statue fund, and we were honoured to have Ivor’s widow, Esme, with us last evening.
I’d like to remind you all that we now down to our last couple of hundred boxes, so now really is the time to get your orders in if you don’t want to be disappointed.
