So its the day after the day before the Jack Army give a fine and deserved thrashing to one of the Pre Season favourites on their own patch and as sure as Dean gave Torvill a stunning Triple Salko the reactions of the Jack Army pronounce the new footballing gods as the second coming (well it would have been if it hadn’t been for the fact it was the 3rd league win of the season).
Seldom can these, in the main, testosterone infected folks see the mainstream the JA are either Godlike or quite simply Dogdirt there is no in-between. But hey why should they, they pay their way (apart from those with comps).
Yesterday showed up many things but surely the overriding FACT is that the Swans on their day are a very good powerful Counter Attacking side. Cast your mind back to Kidderminster on Boxing Day albeit they were a poor side but they were hit on the break in the space of 10 minutes exactly as Walsall were hit yesterday.
So Kenneth come clean and tell us what we really want to play all this talk of 4-3-3 it truly was a load of old hogwash, we never intending playing that way did we. I cannot see it myself. This system is far to open for you and surely you really will never change from the tried and tested 4-4-2 or as Razr prefers the 4-4-1-1 with once he is fit God playing just behind the ‘Big Unit.’
Could we ever be the same side without God well of course it would be a different side but again note that the last time we scored 5 away God was not on the pitch! a simple truth but a very stark one? As one option closes another one pops up, always has done always will.
Razr just feels that midfield is not where we should be looking now, a Defender and a Striker we have the strength in depth in midfield now, I don’t hold for this McLeod and Goodfellow and Forbes as strikers malarkey they are played as midfielders and so competition in the boilerhouse is fierce and since the very timely and in many ways fortuitous arrival of ‘Tall Trees’ KOL now finds himself after a very soft dismissal to be a long way down the pecking order as surely now at least 7 players are ahead of him playing for the midfield slots.
A quality striker and a quality defender for me are now imperative and HOLT yes him again must be made a Jack come Wednesday night, the money is there use it go for him and get him. All this talk of Johnson and the headslapper what a waste of time and effort.
OTJ is now starting to blossom and has been a terrific bonus for the side and gives a further added dimension to the squad. Martinez has started brightly and is playing somewhere near his best again. Surely he can’t be thinking of a further contract extension….mmmmmmmm!Freezer and of course the new Duncan Goodhew of the squad offer pace and guile out wide and even lil ol ickle wickle LEON LEON LEON LEON showed yesterday that he CAN play wide and so as this is now the case the imminent return of the ‘Feisty One’ who can now fulfil his role in the attacking centre midfield role.
Sometimes in football things happen by pure chance and coincidence (look at England in Italia when Bobby Robson was forced by circumstance to alter the formation. England got to the semi’s) so did yesterday see the birth of a slightly different and powerful side. Razr hopes so, how refreshing to see and hear the 2nd half! maybe just maybe a debt of gratitude is given to Mr Russell of Hertfordshire for allowing their 2nd goal to stand. That injustice may well have sparked the blue touch paper for the rest of the season.
Fellow Jacks just try and look at life a little more calmly we are nowhere near as bad as some suggest and nowhere near as Godlike as the other airheads but believe when i say that the rest of the Division are very very wary of the Jack Army. We are one of the few sides this season to play in front of 10,000+
Things are happening maybe a little too slowly for some but things are happening and if we stand as one (just ask one of the squad what the noise from the Jack Army was like at Walsall the next time you see one) there is nothing to stop us in this division.
