The Swans have agreed a deal to sign 17 year old Swansea lad Scott Evans from Manchester City on January 1st
Evans has agreed an 18 month contract after three years at Manchester City – who originally beat off competition from both Liverpool and Man Utd. Evans had been released by City and had a trial at Ninian Park before returning back to Swansea – where he had played in the Excellence sides previously
Talking on the official site, Evans said “It’s good to be home again, especially as I only live around the corner from the stadium.
“My first two years at Man City there were fine and I really enjoyed my football,” he added. “It was great experience. I played in the FA Youth Cup final last season, losing 3-2 on aggregate to Liverpool, and I also played for the Reserves on a regular basis.
“But things changed for me this season and I just wasn’t enjoying it. Man City wanted me to stay and were phoning me all the time to come back. They even offered me a two-year pro contract, but it wasn’t for me.
“The fact that Shaun MacDonald and Chris Jones have been given a chance at Swansea at a young age convinced me my future was with my home town club.”
