Robinson Echos Duffy’s Words

Andy Robinson is the second Swansea player in as many days to call for patience after sections of the support barracked the Swans during their 2-1 win over Carlisle on Friday night.

”There was a bit of tension in the ground which I wasn’t that happy about,” Robinson told the Evening Post ”Some players don’t like that – it can affect what they’re doing on the pitch – and although it doesn’t affect me I think sometimes a bit of patience would help. ”The fans have been brilliant to all of us in my time at the club, but I would just ask them to stay a little bit patient. ”We know what we’re doing. We were in the driving seat throughout the game against Carlisle and their goal was just a sucker punch on the break. ”We played some good football, we were in control and we knew we just needed to take a chance. Eventually we managed that. ”The fans would like to see us win 3-0 or 4-0 every week, maybe some of them even expect it, but that’s not football.”

Robinson also put to bed any rumours that he may claim the second goal after the PA announcer at the stadium credited him initially with the strike ”I didn’t touch it. I just ran to the fans because of all the emotion inside me. It was a great feeling to come back from a goal down to win." he added ”Now we’ve got to build on the Carlisle result this week. We’ve got the big glamour game at Leeds, but before that we’ve got to go and do a job at Cheltenham.”
