Roberto Delighted Once Again

Roberto Martinez was delighted as he watched his side come from behind for the second game running at Cheltenham on Tuesday night.

Second half goals from Jason Scotland and Andy Robinson lifted the Swans into fourth place in the division ahead of the weekend trip to unbeaten Leeds. It was the second time the side had come from behind to win in four days – Duffy and Anderson had previously given them a win against Carlisle on Friday night.

Speaking after the game, Martinez said “The first half was disappointing but the positive thing was that the boys knew they hadn’t done themselves justice.

“Cheltenham started the match strongly but I was pleased with the way we turned things around.”

Martinez made two changes at half time introducing Painter and Butler into the fray at the expense of Austin and Pratley which made a difference to the game with the Swans by far the better side in the second half.

Radio Gloucester were in no doubt that they were watching their side being beaten by a team that would be up there at the end of the season whilst Robins manager John Ward added “I don’t think Swansea could have complained if we’d taken a point and we are not far from getting things right.”

The Swans head to Elland Road on Saturday for a 3pnm kick off against Leeds, who have recorded 6 straight wins at the start of the season and need a win to complete their best start to a league season ever.
