Monk Repeats Robinson Warning

Skipper Garry Monk has repeated the warning of Andy Robinson in that the Swans cannot keep falling a goal down and winning games.

Of the Swans five wins so far this season, four of them have been from a losing position and, as pleasing as that is, it is not every side in the division that will allow us back into contention. It does, however, show a steel in the side that has been missing in recent seasons, something that Monk agrees with as he explained to the Evening Post

"I think we’ve won games this season that we probably would have lost in the last couple of years,

The character and will to win that all the lads have shown, including the new boys, has made it a positive start to the season for us. "But we don’t want to be going behind every week. A win’s a win, but we don’t really want the comeback kings label because we don’t want to keep getting ourselves into bad positions. "We can’t keep starting slowly and expect to pick up points."

Monk is particularly looking forward to testing the sides resolve at unbeaten Leeds this weekend "It’s going to be a great game and we’re all looking forward to it,

The fans are all talking about it and, having done a job at Cheltenham, we’ve set ourselves up for Leeds perfectly. But we know we can’t afford to start against them like we did against Cheltenham. "They are on fire, particularly up front, and it’s going to take a proper performance for us to get anything. "I’m sure the crowd up there will be on the ref’s back trying to influence him so hopefully we’ll get a ref who’ll stay strong. "And if we can stay solid like we did in the second half against Cheltenham, we’ve got the players to produce goals at the other end."
