Anderson Wants A Run

Paul Anderson is determined to make the most of his presence in the Swansea City side over the next few games.

Anderson will come in, probably along with Tom Butler, for the injured Leon Britton and Andy Robinson at Leeds tomorrow with the promise of at least one more game as both will miss next weekend’s visit of Brighton to the Liberty Stadium.

Anderson has been an instant hit at the Liberty stadium this season and has netted his share of important goals in three different competitions. And now as he faces up to the Swans biggest test this season he hopes that he can do enough work to persuade Roberto that he deserves his place.

Speaking to the Evening Post, Anderson said “I wanted to go out on loan last season, but Rafa Benitez wouldn’t let me”He said he wanted me to stay in the reserves and learn my trade there. I really pushed him this year because there are only 18 reserve-team games at Liverpool and that’s not good for me because I start playing well when I get games under my belt.”I’ve been involved every week at Swansea and it’s been a great experience. You’re playing against men who need win bonuses to feed the family, so it’s nothing like the reserves.”I’ve been used as a substitute quite a lot and I think that will always happen to me because I can play on either wing or up front and I’ve got a bit of pace. "But if I can play well when I get the chance, hopefully I can get a starting place and help the team win games from the off, rather than being an option later on.

"I’m loving it down here and I think a little bit of that is normal. There’s a big buzz around the club and if I get the chance to start at Leeds I’ll be delighted.”
