Reports in some quarters had suggested even as much of a season ending injury but these fears were allayed tonight with the club confirming he could be back in as little as two weeks to aid the Swans promotion push.
“Dennis has a mild strain of the medial ligament in his knee,” club physio Richie Evans told the official website, “but it is nothing serious.
“He twisted his knee in a challenge and the opposing player landed on top of it.
“Fortunately a surgeon friend of mine, who happens to be a Crewe fan, was in the crowd and he checked Dennis out at half-time. He allayed our initial fears.
“Now once the swelling goes down we can start working on getting Dennis back as soon as possible.
“We’ll keep assessing him, but at the moment it only looks as if he’ll only be out for two to three weeks.”
Lawrence seems set to miss potentially five games with injury including both legs of the JPT area final against MK Dons but if all goes to plan as per Richie’s comments he could/should be back for Huddersfield on March 1.
