Roberto Eyes Wembley Date

Martinez, who won the competition as a player in 2006, could ensure that date in his diary over the next seven days when the Swans take on League Two leaders MK Dons over two legs starting tomorrow at the Liberty Stadium.

And whilst some Swans fans have dismissed the competition as an unwanted distraction, Martinez is under no illusions that he would love to manage in the first final of the competition to be played at the new Wembley Stadium.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Martinez said "We know there is a huge prize at the end of it and this is the last and probably hardest hurdle.

"You realise how close you are and how important it is to be really focused over the next two games.

"We are excited to be playing in a game where you can enjoy the cup feeling without having the pressure that you have in the league," he said.

"It's a competition where we've played a lot of games and it's great in a way that it's the last home game of the competition and in that respect we are excited."
