Monk Set To Miss Tranmere

Although nothing formal has been announced it is understood that Monk is struggling to regain his fitness ahead of the game and could have his return to first team action put on hold until Saturday's visit to Northampton.

On the plus side though the same report suggests that Dennis Lawrence could return to the starting line-up as the Swans look to return to winning ways.

If Lawrence is passed fit it looks almost certain as if Kris O'Leary will drop to the bench with Lawrence slotting in alongside Alan Tate at the heart of what remains a makeshift Swansea defence missing at least two of it's first choice players.

Monk has been out of action since the second leg against MK Dons having missed the league victory against Huddersfield and also the defeat to Millwall on Friday night.
