Tate Signs New Swans Contract

Tate, whose current deal runs out in the summer, told a fans forum in Bridgend that he was happy to have extended his stay at Swansea and had already penned his new deal to take him into what now looks certain to be the Championship with the Swans.

Tate also revealed that he had considered when signing the deal the possibility of being eligible for the Welsh national side but said that the ruling now only allowed for nationality to be taken from relations through generations up to grandparents rather than on Nationality.

Tate was answering questions as part of a Quiz Night organised by the Supporters Trust and was open to discuss most matters ranging, as well as the above, on subjects as who the toughest opponent he had was, who helped him at Manchester United and how much the club has changed in his time in Swansea and how different training methods were between the different management regimes that he had played under.

But it was the revelation that he had signed a new contract that also showed his joy at staying at Swansea and it was clear from that alone that he is an adopted Jack even if that doesn't make him eligible for Wales at the same time.

Nice one Tatey!
