Martinez Expecting No Doncaster Favour

If Doncaster were to lose to Swindon this evening at the Keepmoat then the Swans would be all but mathematically ensured promotion barring an almost impossible run of results from Southend United.

However, the Swans boss believes it will be up to his side to secure the result tomorrow at Gillingham and he is not reliant on Swindon causing the upset by winning at the home of the third placed side.

Doncaster's form has best been described as erratic over the past few weeks with defeats and draws littering their results list at a time when the Swans were suffering a relative blip in their own form.   You could almost argue that it was the Swans 4-0 triumph there towards the end of January that started that off although Roberto believes that there won't be anything other than a home victory tonight

"I am expecting to go into the Gillingham game having to do it ourselves,'' explained Roberto via the official club website. "I'm not expecting Doncaster to slip up.

"At the end of the day, when have SwanseaCity done things the easy way? It doesn't happen here,'' he joked.

"Whatever happens it should be a special game. A draw will be no good to either side and we will both be going all out for the win.

"It's one of our bogey grounds,'' added Roberto. "I don't know why, but we've tended to find it difficult to be ourselves there.

"But the likes of Yeovil and Luton were our bogey grounds as well, but we've put those to bed this season.

"It's going to be difficult because Gillingham have put a good run of results together that gives them a great chance of getting out of trouble.

"But we've put ourselves in a great position where our fate lies in our own hands. We've got to make sure our preparation is right because not only have we been working hard for 10 months, but we've been waiting 24 years to get back in the second tier.

"You've only got to look at the likes of clubs like NottinghamForest and Leeds, massive clubs, to see how hard it is to get out of this division.

"But we are now in a position to achieve that dream and repay those fans who have remained loyal to us.''
