Liverpool Winger Declares Side Champions

Anderson grabbed a great opening goal in yesterday's 4-1 victory over Orient at the Liberty Stadium – a victory that pushed the Swans 9 points clear with just one game left to play – but still not enough to class them as Champions.

With the uncertainty hanging over them of Leeds arbitration hearing it has thrown the final part of the season into confusion – thanks to the football league – but Anderson believes his side are Champions.

They were words echoed by Martin Ling after his side formed a guard of honour for the Swans before yesterday's game at the Liberty and Ling said “It was a great sign of respect. They were very complimentary about us, and I think it shows football people know who’s top of the table and our fellow professionals know what these players have achieved.”

Anderson meanwhile will return to Anfield after next week's final game at Brighton unsure of his future with his loan deal having run out although both player and club (Swansea) have made noises in the right places recently to suggest that it may be more tied up then they would like us to believe.

Anderson told BBC Sport "We're a great footballing side for a side in a lower division and winning the championship is well-deserved. We feel like champions.

"We have to focus on next weekend and make sure we win whatever the Leeds verdict."

Anderson admits his future has yet to be settled, adding: "I really enjoy playing for Swansea so you never know. I don't know what my situation is.

"I go back to Liverpool in a week and will have to sit down with them to see what they want from me."
