Robinson thought was slightly more negative than Jenkins when questioned over what the chances were of something being agreed.
Talking in today's News of the World, Robinson said "It would break my heart to leave Swansea, I love the club, it's my club and I'll always support it. I hope I'm here for a long time but you never know what's going to happen in football."
Robinson's words will strike worry into the hearts of the supporters as it suggests that maybe the two sides are some way apart in terms of what they want from the deal. There is nothing positive in the comments lifted from Robinson although it of course could be selective quoting from the newspaper to make a more interesting story than "we'll carry on talking"
Speaking yesterday, chairman Huw Jenkins was more upbeat and told the Evening Post "I've had a long chat with Andy's agent this week and I'm optimistic something will be sorted out very soon
"We are trying to conclude as much as we can in the month of May and hopefully Andy will sign a new contract in the next week or so.
"We're still waiting to conclude things, but I believe we are now close to an agreement."
