Speculation in Spain this week has suggested that the Swans have made a bid for the player although the valuation they place on him falls some way short of the figure placed on his head by his club.
The deal is alleged to be worth around 1 million Euros over a four year term but the stumbling block has been reported to be the transfer fee – the Swans initial bid was rumoured to be 60,000 Euros which has reportedly risen to 100,000 Euros.
Martinez told the Evening Post ''Every time I go to a game out there now, the newspapers the next day say I want to sign three of the players involved''We have followed Gorka Pintado and we've seen a lot of him. You don't get many players like him.
''He is a goalscorer who guarantees you between 15 and 20 goals a season.
''He is strong, aggressive, he works extremely hard and tactically he is very clever. He leads the line well.
''We're keeping an eye on him but he has another year on his contract at his club and as yet we haven't bid for him.
''We will bring in a striker this summer, but I would say there are another five we are looking at apart from him.''
Pintado scored 18 goals last season for his club and has also played for Osasuna B and Leganes.
Martinez is also reported as confirming to the Western Mail that he has an interest in Hibernian winger Alan O'Brien as well as Motherwell striker Ross McCormack although he insists that they are just two of a very long list of players that he is currently considering.
