Carling Cup 1st Round Draw Next Week

Normally the draw for the competition comes out just after the fixtures are released but this season it will be announced at 10am on 13 June – 3 days before the season's fixtures are announced on 16 June.

The current holders of the competition are Tottenham Hotspur who beat Chelsea in last season's final at Wembley.

Despite promotion to the Championship the Swans will still enter the competition in Round One, most Premiership sides enter in Round Two and England's European representatives enter in Round Three.

The Swans record in the competition is relatively poor although they were unlucky not to put out Premiership Reading last season before losing to an extra time goal.

The draw will be announced on the official football league web site.
