It appears that some compromise may have been met in the middle of additional payments judging by the reporting of the deal itself that could mean the Swans won't receive all the payment up front and part of it will be down to various clauses that will be written into the contract.
BBC Sport say "Derby County have agreed a deal worth up to £2m to sign Swansea's Dutch midfielder Ferrie Bodde, BBC Radio Derby understands.
County's interest in the 26-year-old appeared to be dead last week when the Swans turned down an offer of £750,000, upped from an initial £500,000 bid. "
It will be the add ons in the deal that worry Swans fans the most with the interest being around what needs to happen for the add ons to actually be due and it will also remain interesting to see what fee is paid up front immediately for the midfielder and how much of that goes to Den Haag – will they get half of the potential total value or have the Swans managed to use their contacts there to strike a deal on this front.
Either way though it does seem that the Bodde saga is about to come to an end with the Swans receiving a club record transfer fee for their player.
