Martinez is aware of other interest in the wide man but states that next season is likely to see him plying his trade at either the Liberty Stadium or the City Ground and he hopes that last year's experience here will give Swansea the advantage on that particular front.
Anderson was due to meet with Liverpool top man Rick Parry yesterday to thrash out his particular future but that seems certain to end with him spending a season on loan at the Championship club.
And it is easy to see Roberto's point of view when you think back of the success of last season's loan spell for Anderson at Swansea that ended with a League One winners medal and the young player of the year award in his pocket. Forest though do have the advantage of being close to his hometown which could swing it in his favour – although that is not something that concerns Roberto as a factor in the decision making process for the player.
Speaking to the Evening Post, the Swans manager said "I know there have been other clubs interested, but I think it's between us and Forest.
"It has to be the Championship for him next season, he's not going to play any lower than that.
"And it's now up to Paul to decide where he wants to go.
"It's well worth waiting for him to decide because of the relationship we have with him.
"If you're going to move permanently, you need to put a lot of thought into it," he added in reference to the location of the two clubs
"But if it's a loan move, as is the case with Paul, my personal opinion is that you don't want to change many things.
"You want stability and a bit of continuity within the new challenge, which is playing Championship football.
"The good thing is that we don't have to sell anything about us to Ando. He really settled down here and is a hero with the fans. Now it's up to him to decide if he wants more of that."
Roberto is expecting to also hear by the end of next week whether Anderson has elected to spend another season with him or not and he believes it is essential that it be the case "After that, it would not be good for him or for us to be hanging on," he said.
