I guess I would be king of the understatement if I said that Darren Way's time at the Liberty has hardly been littered with endless first team appearances and performances of note.
In fact his most prolific spell during his two and a half years here was when he returned to Yeovil on loan such was his bad luck with injuries and the like in his time at Swansea.
And that spell was finally ended today when it was confirmed that Darren would be heading back to Yeovil on a two year deal worth up to £50,000 – £100,000 down on what Kenny Jackett paid for the player in January 2006.
Way is the player most accustomed to the Liberty fitness room having spent much of that time in there having treatment for a wide range of injuries.
Speaking after securing the capture, Yeovil manager Russell Slade told their official website "Bringing Darren Way back to Yeovil Town will prove to be one of the most significant signings in the club's history in my opinion.
"He will give us real heartbeat"
Whilst the player added via the same source "It's good to come back home and I am looking forward to the season ahead.
"I really enjoyed my time at Yeovil when I was on loan and talking to the Gaffer Russell Slade soon convinced me I had a part to play at Yeovil.
"Swansea didn't quite work out for me the way I had hoped it would, but I gained a lot of experience from my time at Swansea and hope to use that experience throughout the rest of my career.
"I'd like to thank all the staff at Swansea for everything they hgave done for me and I wish them all the best for the coming season. It's been a pleasure to work with Roberto Martinez and his assistant Graeme Jones and with their experience and knowledge I expect them to go onto bigger and better things."
