I'm still finding it hard to believe that Ferrie only speaks to skysports.com. He won't speak to the Western Mail, he won't speak to the Evening Post but he speaks to skysports.com who – with the greatest respect to Ferrie Bodde – probably hadn't heard much about him until he started using them as his mouthpiece,
It just doesn't sit right. Something isn't quite right on this front but there we go. Today's skysports.com exclusive is that Ferrie wants to leave and Roberto says a deal can be done. Or to 'quote' the player he said
"I'm still in Holland. I have some personal things to sort out and my head is not right to be with the team. The talk of a transfer to Derby has been dragging on for too long now.
"I had a personal meeting with the manager (Martinez). He is a good man and has helped me since I have played in the UK and he understands the reasons I want to leave and he told me that there can be a deal with Derby.
"Everyone at Swansea has been great with me and they are a great club.
"I will always love them and I will never forget what they have done for me, but Derby is a big club with big players and big finances and a history of playing in the Premier League.
"Everybody knows that's what I want. Now I just hope a deal can be done this week."
Fantastic. So there we go. Translate the above into what we already knew
- Ferrie wants to leave
- Ferrie wants to join Derby County
- The Swans think a deal can be done
We knew this last week didn't we?
One way or the other do the deal and let him sign for Derby or keep him here at Swansea. But let's get it over and done with.
And I wonder if those Derby fans who lapped up the words of their Chairman last week when he said it was over leaving them to respond that they didn't want the player anyway will nwo say that they did all along.
As for this saga it's just a tad boring now.
