It's been the saga of the summer that now passes an eight week period but as Ferrie Bodde returns to Swansea having missed the Swans trip to Sweden last week, Derby Chairman Adam Pearson has again suggested that their pursuit of the player may be over.

The player himself admitted yesterday that nothing had been agreed between the Swans and Derby and Pearson's comments in today's Derby Telegraph suggest that they are not likely to budge on their last bid – reported to be £1.5m rising to £2m.   Or was that their last official bid that they haven't withdrawn?   I lose track of this one.

Speaking to yeaterday's Sunday Mirror Bodde said "My agent is arranging everything.

"I don't know what is happening because the two clubs have not agreed anything"

Whilst Pearson's comments in today's paper were “He [Ferrie Bodde] is our first choice but we are not prepared to pay over the odds

“We have got a couple of other targets we are looking at. They are two extremely experienced European players and we will turn our attention to them.”

Now whether these are the first words of the final few days of the saga remain to be seen but with the Swans playing two local pre-season games this week – against both Neath (Weds) and Port Talbot (Thurs) it remains to be seen whether Ferrie plays any part or indeed whether Ferrie is still a Swans player.
