With the squad ready to head to Spain tomorrow for their pre-season tour, things are taking shape nicely for the new season.
Wins last week over Neath, Port Talbot and Carmarthen took the Swans pre-season goal tally to eighteen without reply as the squad takes shape. All new recruits seem to be bedded in nicely with some notable performances certainly catching the eye to increase optimism.
And Roberto isn't finished yet although he admits that he is in no immediate rush to add new names to his squad with the new campaign still almost three weeks away. But he does sound as if he is close to bringing Brandy back to the Liberty Stadium after his loan spell last season.
Speaking in today's Evening Post, the Swans manager said "The focus goes on the players that we have here, we are still in the fitness programme and building on that area.
"There are a couple of areas where I will continue to look to strengthen, but my main focus is in the players we have and making sure everyone is fit and ready to challenge for a place in the team.
"You are talking about a squad that needs to compete consistently for 10 months. We need to strengthen some positions, but we have until the end of August. What is important is the core of players we have here. There is healthy competition here.
"With the prices in the current market you do look at loan options.
"It is important that we look at certain young players who are good enough to play in the Championship. To do that you have to go to the Premier League clubs.
"Febian knows how we work. He is someone who has developed here and he has Premier League potential.
"We have got good competition up front with Guillem Bauza and Gorka Pintado, who are very strong, while Jason Scotland will be pushing them soon when he is fully fit. But we do need a fourth striker."
Pintado and Bussy have caught the eye already this summer with three hat-tricks and 11 goals between them and Jason Scotland should return to action in Spain after his lay off following his operation. Last season's top scorer will be keen to make his own mark to force his way into the starting line up in front of a sell out 3000 Jacks at Charlton.
By which time you just know Roberto will have plucked another couple of options for us to choose from.
