At least that is the view of the Swansea manager Roberto Martinez who revealed that Scotland is not yet ready to start a game but he is more than pleased with his process to date.

Talking to the Western Mail, Roberto said “Jason isn’t ready to start a game yet. But we were very, very happy with what he brought into the squad on Saturday.

“His performance was of the highest quality and hopefully he will be fit for a full 90 minutes very soon.

“Right now what I’m interested in is seeing Jason being effective on the pitch, not how long he is on it for."

Roberto also revealed his delight that Garry Monk would not miss any league games following his dismissal on Saturday “It’s good that Garry won’t miss any league games." he added

“I didn’t think it was a sending off but there are always ways to get positives out of these negatives.

“Garry will be available for selection on Saturday and that’s great.

“On the other hand, it’s a great opportunity for the other two-centre backs and that’s the competition I’m looking for.”
