The Swans fought back from an early setback to eventually win the game in extra time having been afforded the luxury of a missed penalty in injury time as well.

Dean Windass had given Hull the lead but the goals from Gorka Pintado and Jordi Gomez gave the Swans a deserved victory – something that Brown conceded when he said after the game

"The better team won, there's no doubt about that,'' said Brown. "Swansea played some fantastic football.

"We looked the more organised team in the first-half, but that went out of the window after the break.

"It enabled Swansea to get hold of the ball and the game and they deserved their win in the end.''
