Four consecutive wins for the Swans have lifted them into the third round of the Carling Cup as well as 7th place in the Championship table which has led some sections to dream of the Premier League.

But Roberto has warned fans not to get carried away by the position although he is only too aware that victory over Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow will take the Swans into the first international break of the season in the play off places.

But with August not turning into September until Monday, Roberto has said that nothing is ever won in August although you would excuse him a little smug style at the way his side have adapted to life at the higher level.

Speaking in tonight's Evening Post, Roberto said "It's great to get compliments because it's better to get some recognition than for people to feel we're going to struggle from the startClick here!

"But we're not going to kid ourselves. What we need to do is make sure we are in a position we can be proud of in May, that we have progressed well and stayed in the division.

"In football it's a waste of time speaking in August about where we are going to end up in the league, a complete waste of time.

"It's unrealistic talking about promotion in August. I remember Watford in this division last season — people said it was them plus one to go up for the first couple of months, but football doesn't work like that.

"Compliments are very nice, but we know we need to improve in many areas. If we can get some similar recognition in May, then we will be able to relax and listen."
