Gower has yet to find the net since his summer switch from Southend and he admits that that factor is now playing on his mind as he prepares to face Burnley at the Liberty on Saturday.
Yet again on Tuesday night he saw a shot rebound off the post as he looked to open his account for the season with goals currently at a premium for the Swans at the moment overall.
"In the format we play, the onus is on myself, Tom Butler and Jason Scotland to score," Gower told BBC Sport.
"I'm doing the right things, I've hit the woodwork a couple of times, but I could do with a bit of luck and I feel that I need that goal for confidence.
"I still think playing with one up front suits us, we've dominated teams.
We've had a decent start in the league, we've been on top of most teams," Gower told BBC Sport Wales.
"We're 10th in the league and two points off the play-off positions.
"The formation we play with a lone striker helped the club dominate League One last season and we've been on top of most sides this year.
"I feel that I've settled into the team team well, we had a good, long, pre-season – but I need that goal to take pressure off myself!"
