Ledley will feature in his first South Wales derby on Tuesday night when the two sides meet in the third round of the Carling Cup at the Liberty Stadium.
And Ledley – a Cardiff fan before his playing days – admits that he will get some stick from his family should the Swans come out on top in the first of at least three meetings between the two sides this season.
League clashes will follow in November and April for the rights to brag in football circles in South Wales and Ledley has revealed just what it means to come out on top.
He said "My family will have a go at me if we lose. I'll probably get some stick off my dad if Swansea beat us but that's football.
"I'll be upset and down if we get knocked out, it won't just be my family and mates. I know what this fixture means to all the Cardiff fans and we've got to win it – we've got to get the result and it doesn't matter how we play.
"The most important thing is to make it to the fourth round. I've never played in a Cardiff-Swansea derby and I can't wait to get out there and get stuck into them. When I was a kid supporting Cardiff I dreamed of playing against Swansea.
"All the lads at the club are up for it, but being a Cardiff boy I suppose it's a bit more special for me."
