Coppell is the latest to join the Swans fan club as he tipped the Swans to make a promotion challenge this season ahead of the clash between the two sides on the weekend at the Madejski stadium.

Coppell praised the Swans “unique” brand of football when he said “Swansea are unique in the way they play,”

“They have a Spanish manager and they play a style that is very much in the Spanish mould, where the emphasis is on ball control and passing. With a new stadium there seems to be a whole freshness about Swansea.

“And with promotion and the way they have started, they have shown they are a good outfit who I think will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season.”

Saturday’s game at the Madejski kicks off at 3pm and tickets for away fans are no longer available at the Liberty Stadium although there will be tickets available at Reading on the day.  Over 2000 tickets have already been sold.
