He told the Reading official website
“In the first 45 minutes, I thought we were teriffic. It was one of our best first halves, without a doubt.
“You just have to look at the physical effort put in – it’s not just about running around like an idiot, it has to be done in the right place and at the right time as well.
“The players dovetailed together and they supported each so other well – some of the positive play was among the best in my time here.”
“Swansea have a style which is very pleasing on the eye and, after the game at Stoke on Tuesday, different things were asked of us today and with such variety it just shows how demanding football in this country can be.
“But with almost a totally different side, as you saw, we prepared well for this one – the players were ready.
“We knew it would be a tactical challenge whatever Roberto came up with today. They were better in the second half and dropped another man into midfield.
“But perhaps, although we weren’t protecting what we had, we were a little bit more circumspect going forward.
“They can pass the ball really well and they’ve been a really healthy addition to the Championship, but although it was a different story in the second half we still won it.”
