“This Is A Division In Which We Belong”

Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Reading was somewhat of a wake up call in some quarters as one of the promotion favourites tore through the Swans defence with some ease and could have scored more had it not been for some good saves from Dorus De Vries

And whilst it has led to the predictable knee jerk reactions in some quarters, Roberto has taken the defeat in his stride and believes that the Swans will be able to compete in the Championship.

Speaking in today’s Western Mail, the Swans boss said โ€œIt is a very exciting division

โ€œIf you look at the Premiership, each team has its level, but it is completely open in the Championship.

โ€œI donโ€™t think anyone will run away with it because I donโ€™t see an outstanding side.

โ€œWe are still adapting, but I do believe with the performances we have had we have not got the points we deserve.

โ€œWe have shown we can compete at this level and it is just trying to progress into that group of the Premiership pedigree teams.

โ€œLook at teams like Wolves, Birmingham, Reading, even Derby. With the experience they have they start with a huge advantage.

โ€œBut that is our challenge because from a football point of view I think we can compete against these sides.

โ€œAs a whole it is a division in which we belong and we always go out there believing we can get a result against anyone.โ€
