Painter made his return from injury against Preston in midweek and will need an injection to get through the game against Wolves tomorrow.
However, he says it is all in the name of Swansea City and is ready to do just that rather than take what he says is the easy way out and miss three or four weeks of action.
His return to action helped the Swans keep a clean sheet in midweek after the four goal mauling at Reading last weekend and Painter ie hopeful that they can build on that against the early season leaders tomorrow.
He told the Evening Post “The ankle’s holding up. It’s still not 100 per cent, but it’s bearable to get through games
“I don’t like missing games. The injections get me through, so they’re something I’m willing to take.
“It’s frustrating because it’s hard enough playing games when you’re fully fit and fully focused, let alone when you’ve got a little niggly injury to worry about.
“But it’s one of those things you’ve got to get through. I could take the easy option and be out for the next three or four weeks, but it’s not something I want to do.
“I watched the Reading game at home on Sky Sports News and it’s the worst thing in the world because you can’t do anything about it
“I’ve got a couple of mates who support Wolves, but I think they’ll be leaving the text messages once they see the final score on Saturday, said a confident Painter.
“A lot of my family work in the Midlands and are around Wolves fans and, by the sound of it, Wolves are ready for the Premiership this season.
“They’ve had a good start and I think a lot of fans are impressed with the players they’ve got this season.
“(Wolves boss) Mick McCarthy has added a bit of experience to a young squad and they seem a really good team now. I don’t think their defeat on Tuesday will make any difference. We know what a good team they are. Their points total in the league proves that.
“As long as we’re out of the traps early doors and focused I’m sure we’ll have no problems.
“The season’s not all going to be rosy,” he said.
“It’s not going to go all out own way, we’ve got to accept that, that’s football.
“A lot of clubs have had more experience at a higher level.
“If you think about it Wolves were a Premiership club a few years ago. They’ve got some very good attacking players, but maybe in a few years we can be in the same bracket as Wolves โ an established Championship team.”
