Aston Villa Defender Signs For Swansea

The left back signed for Aston Villa in July 2003 from Cork based side Springfield.

He helped Wycombe reach the semi finals of the League Cup back in 2006 and has also had loan spells at both Southampton and Leeds United this year.

He never though made an appearance for Leeds because in the warm up for his first game at Swindon for Leeds he suffered a “serious anterior cruciate ligament injury” and that has kept him out of action since.

Roberto has moved to bring in the player on a three month loan because of an injury to Marcos Painter that is likely to see him sidelined for pretty much the rest of the season

The official Aston Villa website which confirmed the news of the signing had this to say of O’Halloran “such is his immense potential that he had played twice for the Republic of Ireland, against Ecuador and Bolivia, during their USA tour in May 2007.”

He will join up with his team mates ahead of the league clash with Watford at the Liberty on Sunday.
