After completing his signing on Tuesday and being formerly unveiled yesterday. the on loan Villain told the official site that he had much to prove at this moment in time and that a spell in the Championship was a challenge he was looking forward to.
O’Halloran said “I’m looking forward to the challenge, I know this Swansea side plays good football and I think it will suit my style of play.
“I like to get forward whenever I can, but my main job is to help keep a clean sheet.
“I watched Swansea play Cardiff in the Carling Cup a few weeks ago live on Sky. They played really well and there looked a fantastic atmosphere at the Liberty Stadium.
“I’m really looking forward to pushing for a starting place. My aim is to get as many games as possible under my belt, improve my match fitness and help the Swans push up the Championship table.
“I’m out of contract at the end of the season, so I need to impress both managers – at Aston Villa and Swansea.”
Swans manager Roberto Martinez added “We are delighted to have signed a player that fits the Swansea City criteria perfectly
“He is hungry for success; desperate to enjoy his football and is highly-rated at Aston Villa. And coming back from a lengthy injury makes him even more determined to get back on the pitch and compete for a first team place.
“While he has versatility as a player, his best position is at left-back which will add extra competition to the squad following the injury to Marcos Painter.
“The fact that he became a full international at just 19, also shows the quality he already possesses and the potential he has ahead of him.”
