The Swansea City midfielder returns from a one match suspension earned for his red card against Cardiff and admits that he wants to get one over on Barnsley to push away the memories of that penalty defeat.
Speaking in the Western Mail, Britton said โThat play-off was one of the worst moments of my career.
โWe were just a couple of kicks away from the Championship and lost โ it was a horrible day to be involved in.
โBut weโre much better placed for this division than we would have been a couple of years ago. And the biggest difference has been the impact Roberto has had.
โHeโs changed the whole philosophy of the club and weโve moved on tremendously because of that.
โItโs strange โ weโve had three draws, but havenโt fallen away massively from the play-offs.
โWeโre still there and weโve got to look at these two home games against Barnsley and Sheffield United as a chance to pick up a couple of wins.โ
Roberto though was focusing on the league challenge rather than worrying about what happened in the past when he said
โObviously it was a huge disappointment and it was difficult to take,โ he said.
โBut weโve learned a lot and weโre in a different situation.
โWeโll keep that game at the Millennium Stadium as part of our history, but it shouldnโt affect our present and our future.
โThe reality is that Barnsley are a side who have been getting results when nobody has expected them to.
โThey have talented individuals and can surprise anyone, and that makes them very dangerous.โ
