Histon’s “Disrespect” Will Be Motivation For Us

The Swansea City midfielder watched as the non league players booed and showed thumbs down signals when they were drawn against the Swans at the end of November.

That reaction bought criticism that they were being disrespectful to their Championship opponents and Pratley believes that the reaction will give his team mates all the motivation they need next week.

“The reaction of their players was disrespectful,” Pratley told News of the World

“Fair enough I can understand them wanting someone like Manchester United or Chelsea.

“But I couldn’t believe they were booing when they were drawn with us.ย  That has got to be motivation for us when we go there.ย  I’m sure the gaffer will remind us of Histon’s reaction before the game.ย  He’s good at things like that.

“We would never be disrespectful to another side.ย  When we draw non league clubs we don’t say things like ‘We’ll beat them 7-0’ย ย ย  We will show Histon respect even though they haven’t shown us any.

“People still seem to think Swansea is a small club and that annoys me a bit.ย  It’s because we’re over the Severn Bridge and out of the way.

“We’re not in League One or League Two – we’re in the top half of the Championship.ย  We’ll be professional against Histon and hopefully come out on top.

“We want to make amends for losing to Havant & Waterlooville definitely.

“We had the chance to play Liverpool in the next round and we blew it.ย  Everyone here wanted to play against a top Premier League side and it was very disappointing to miss out.ย ย  We’re looking to put that right against Histon.

“You never know who you’ll get in the fourth round and that’s why we want to be in the hat.ย  Most of the boys here played against Havant and Waterlooville so we should be prepared for Histon.

“I’d rather play them at the Liberty because it is a big pitch.ย  We’ve got to hope the weather is OK on the day so that the pitch is good and we can play ourย passing game.ย  I’m sure the gaffer will do his homework and we’ll know what they’re not good at.

“We’re a passing side and I’m sure they’re going to be physical and play a lot of long balls.ย  It will be a good test for us.”
