We all knew he wasn’t coming back here but the former Swansea City striker ensured it wasn’t going to happen today when he signed on loan at Leeds United and linked up with mate Andy Robinson in the process.
Trundle has signed on at Elland Road until January 9 and Bristol City manager Gary Johnson told their official website “We’ve had a discussion and Lee needs to be playing regularly.
“He was unfortunate to be ill when he was due to play against Portsmouth. At the moment, with the weather as it is, it’s very difficult to get players outside of the first eleven matches as they’re being postponed.
“For whatever reason Lee hasn’t been able to command a regular place in our team this season and this move will give him the chance to get those games.
“It’s a good move for him for a month, at a good level,ย and we’ll see how it goes. It will work out for all parties as Lee gets games, Leeds get a new striker and we get a player back in a month’s time a lot fitter.”
Trundle goes straight into the Leeds squad to face Carlisle tomorrow
