Performance Not Position Says Roberto

The Swansea City boss was speaking after the 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough and stated that he would be happy if his side kept up the same level of performance between now and the end of the season.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Martinez said "We could get into the play-offs and not play well and I'd be disappointed

"But if we keep up our standards and don't make the play-offs, I'd be delighted and proud of my players.

"We got promoted from League One last season and now the demands are that if we drop a few points, we are not a top six side.

"That's trying to run before we can walk as a football club.

"I'll be disappointed if we don't maintain the level of performances in our last six games.

"We could go into those six games and get into the play-offs without playing well and I would be very, very disappointed then because it would be a waste of time.

"We would not really be progressing as a football club.

"If we can go into the next six games, stop being cagey in the last third and have the extra confidence in our play, carry on with the standards that we set and keep being ourselves but we don't make the play-off, I'd be delighted.

"The bravery that we approach every game is something for everyone at Swansea City to be proud of.

"We have direct confrontation against Cardiff and Sheffield United," pointed-out Martinez.

"That is important to have control of them games."
