You probably couldn't have written the script better for the Swansea City youngster over the past twelve months.

A loan spell at Wrexham, breaking into the Swansea side with such style, a goal in the last derby game at Ninian Park and now it seems set to end with a call up to the full squad for the friendly against Estonia in Llanelli.

John Toshack will make that announcement next week but Allen is hotly tipped to make the grade with a chance of also featuring in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers if he impresses on international duty.

The Swansea young player of the year you have no doubt will do just that after some highly impressive performances have rocketed his reported value as well as established him as a key member of the Swansea City squad.

The BBC report that Allen along with Leicester's Andy King are both in line for a call up for the game on May 29 at Parc Y Scarlets.  With Craig Bellamy and Simon Davies both absentees for the game, Toshack is looking elsewhere for talent and there is none brighter at the moment than either Allen or King.   On top of Allen's impressive Championship performances, King scored 11 goals from midfield as Leicester romped to the League One title at the first time of asking.

Both have played in the Under 21 set up that came so close to qualifying for this summer's tournament but both will end their season with the call up when Toshack names his side on 22 May.
