The newspaper link suggests that the Swans are interested in bringing the 18 year old Scotland B cap to the Liberty after his 22 goals in the Scottish First division this season earned him the players player of the year award for the division.
Ironically Griffiths himself admits that he did not expect to win that award – thinking it was going to Stephen Dobbie – the striker who will complete his own Liberty move at the end of this week.
Griffiths has already had a trial at West Brom and also earlier in the season attracted interest from Portsmouth with the Baggies expected to also try and bring the player to the Hawthorns. There has also been previous interest from Liverpool, Middlesbrough and Dundee – who have had a £200,000 bid turned down whilst Hibs and Kilmarnock are also monitoring his progress.
Speaking after his own inclusion in the Scotland B squad, Griffiths said "It has definitely been the best week of my career. I didn’t see the call from Scotland coming but it was a welcome surprise.
“Billy Stark [Scotland Under-21 coach] rang me at home and asked me how I was doing and if I was ready for the upcoming Under-19s game.
“Then he suddenly said he’d see me before then as George Burley wanted me in the B squad.
“To hear the national team manager is keen to have a look at you in any game is a brilliant compliment and I hope to get involved at some stage and do my best.”
He also admitted that his own vote for player of the season had gone to Dobbie when he added “I voted for Dobbie and thought he’d win for sure
“It was a real honour to win and to be named as the best player in the league by the other players is the best accolade you can get.”
And regards a potential move?
“I voted for Dobbie and thought he’d win for sure,” admitted Sparky.
“It was a real honour to win and to be named as the best player in the league by the other players is the best accolade you can get.”
And regards a potential move? “I leave all that stuff to my agent and just get on with playing football. I enjoyed my trial with West Brom and the training was quite different to what I’m used to with Livingston but I think I coped with it quite well.
“It was good to see Graham Dorrans again as well and he only had good things to say about the club.
“Tony Mowbray was great with me and said the two clubs would speak again in the summer and we’ll see what happens.
“If an offer was accepted by Livingston then it would definitely be something I’d think about.”
Griffiths 22 goals for Livingston this season is a club record.
