The Sunday newspapers are always a good source for transfer speculation and this week it is the name of Tom Heaton who is being linked with the Swans as a replacement for the seemingly imminent departure of Dorus de Vries.
Heaton spent last season on loan at local rivals Cardiff City and attracted some very positive press during that spell – press that did not go totally unnoticed it seems in the corridors of the Liberty.
Heaton is reported as being ready to quit Old Trafford in search of first team football after his 24 appearances for Cardiff last season.
Swansea are on the look out for a new keeper after calling time on the deadline for de Vries to sign his new contract – a decision that is said to have angered the Dutchman.
A source close to Dorus told News of the World "Dorus feels that being given days to decide his future was nowhere near long enough and wanted more time. But he's extremely frustrated
"He's asked for more time but is in the dark as he hasn't heard back from the club since."
